Minatec : research in Micro-nanotechnologies

Tronics Microsystems is based in Crolles, France, a high-tech area of Grenoble and a major center for MEMS, microelectronics and nanotechnologies in Europe. It is the home of MINATEC, Europe's largest center for research, innovation and training in micro and nanotechnologies. The region has also been selected as the French competitiveness pole for micro-nanotechnologies, called MINALOGIC, and receives strong support from the French government and industry.

The region offers a remarkable environment and infrastructure and already has attracted leading MEMS and semiconductor companies, institutes and organizations:

  • Semiconductor devices: STMicroelectronics, NXP, Freescale, e2V, Trixell
  • MEMS: Thales, Tronics Microsystems, ULIS, Crocus, Xenocs
  • Equipment: Alcatel Vacuum, SUSS Microtec, Applied Materials, LAM
  • Materials and supply: Soitec, Tracit, Air Liquide, Linde
  • Infrastructures : Faure Ingénierie, Dalkia, Elyo, 40-30
  • R&D: CEA-LETI, TIMA-CMP, CNRS, Institut Laue-Langevin
  • Universities: INPG, University Joseph Fourrier, ENSERG
  • Networks: NEXUS, Euripides

Tronics is strongly positioned to meet the increasingly global customer demand for advanced product solutions, complete concept development and flexible contract manufacturing services. We invest strategically in our plant infrastructure to meet this demand and maintain our competitive strength.

Our 1,350-square-meter facility includes 750 square meters of MEMS production, assembly, packaging, test and characterization space. It features a 6” wafer-manufacturing line fully dedicated to MEMS in a 400-square-meter clean room facility. Our manufacturing plant and procedures have been ISO 9001 certified since 2002.
